The Boyne Valley Catholic Community is offering many opportunities to enrich your prayer life and spirituality beginning on May 19th the Fifth Week of Easter
RCIA: Monday May 20th at 6:30 pm at St. Matthew’s.
Men’s Bible Study Group: The group meets on Tuesday morning at 6:30 am at St. Matthews. All men of the faith community are invited to attend.
Stephens’ Ministry: Held on Wednesday evening May 22nd at 6:00 pm
Grief Support Group In coordination with our Stephen’s Ministry, BVCC will be offering a Grief Support Group each week on Wednesday, and running through June 12th. People experiencing grief can feel a void that at times can seem insurmountable. As time moves on, many who are grieving feel a need to share their joys, memories, and even their despair about their loved one. It is through open dialogue with others and our shared faith in the Risen Christ that we can hopefully begin to heal. The group will meet at St. Matthew’s at 7 pm. For more information, please contact Doug and Janice Reynolds, or Marilyn Cleary.
It’s Time to Plant: After a very successful planning meeting a few weeks ago, we are getting ready to plant our community garden. The planning will take place on Saturday, May 25th beginning at 9:00 am. Last year we had a great turnout of people, and we had the garden planted in two hours! We hope for a similar turnout this year. This produce from this garden will benefit the food pantries in Boyne Falls, Boyne City, and East Jordan, along with homeless shelters and other institutions that need our help. This garden is truly a blessing to our community and the surrounding area. If you have any questions, please give John Stebelton a call.
Youth Ministry Annual Garage Sale: A youth ministry program will be having their annual garage sale beginning at 9 am on Saturday, May 25th In conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, the youth will be raising funds for their trip to Indianapolis for the National Catholic Youth Conference, along with their summer mission trip to Detroit. If you have items to donate for the sale, please contact the Knights of Columbus. I hope you call can support our youth with this very important yearly fundraiser. They need to raise a total of $8,000 between both trips. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Come join us and pray the Rosary every Saturday: at 10 am at St. Matthew’s for the protection of our Church and our nation.
Mass at St John’s for Memorial Day: We will again have Mass on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend at St. John Nepomucene Church. Mass will be held at 7:00pm. Bishop Raica will preside at the liturgy. All are welcomed to attend.
