Pre-K through Sixth Grade Catechesis

“…catechesis is a pivotal dimension of the Church’s pastoral activity and a significant element in all the Church does to hand on the faith. Every means that the Church employs in her overall mission to go and make disciples has a catechetical aspect. Catechesis gives form to the missionary preaching that is intended to arouse the first signs of faith.” (National Directory for Catechesis, page 56, Section C)

Boyne Valley Catholic Community offers a wonderful process of catechetical faith formation for students in Pre-K through 6th grade.

(See the “Youth Ministry” tab for those in grades seven through 12).

Mixing a classroom and intergenerational approach to learning, the students are exposed to not only the doctrines and principles of the faith, but also how to live that faith out in the world today.

The students participate in the required hours of instruction based upon the guidelines from the Diocese of Gaylord. They are also provided instruction in the “Circle of Grace” process, which is the Safe Environment program for the Diocese of Gaylord.
