The whole liturgical life of the Church revolves around the Eucharistic sacrifice and the sacraments. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1113)
Boyne Valley Catholic Community has a variety of processes for the preparation of the Sacraments of the Church.
Those preparing for the reception of First Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Eucharist: The Diocese of Gaylord has restored the order of the sacraments, in which Confirmation is celebrated before Eucharist. In this Diocese, both sacraments are celebrated at the same liturgy.
Boyne Valley Catholic Community celebrates the sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion in the third grade. In the second grade, the students prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is required that all candidates for the sacraments participate in this two year formation process. All sacramental preparation is accomplished outside of regular faith formation sessions. All parents are expected to attend sacramental preparation sessions with their children.
