Catholic Schools Week – Welcome St Francis of Petoskey!
Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2025 is January 26 – February 1.
The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2025 is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.
We are blessed today to have students from St. Francis parish of Petoskey at our 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, January 25th. They will be sharing about their school before Mass and helping up with our various liturgical ministries. They will also have a display table about their school and will be selling raffle tickets. Currently we have four families and seven students who attend St Francis school. Let us continue to support Catholic education.
