Thank you for your continued donations to the Good Neighbors Food Pantry box in the church gathering space. The need for food donations is important every week of the year. The pantry is open every week for the 50-60 families we serve weekly. In a recent homily, Father Denny talked about loving your neighbor as you love yourself. And, that loving your neighbor is loving God. By feeding those in need in your own hometown, you are doing the work of God. It sounds simple but it is truly profound. Providing healthy food in a positive environment is what Good Neighbors strives to do.
In two weeks, we will be passing out our Thanksgiving bags. It is what we call our ‘Let’s Talk Turkey’ program. By donating to this program, we are able to purchase gift cards for turkey or ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole kits, an appetizer and a dessert, all provided in a colorful, reuseable grocery bag to bring back next time to the pantry. Currently, we are still $1,000 away from our goal to fund this program. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. You can turn in an envelope for Good Neighbors at the church office, mail to 624 State St, Boyne City, MI 49712 or, contribute via Paypal at Good Neighbors Food Pantry (goodneighborsboyne.org)
